1. Controller
Platon.md is a personal blog and portfolio operated by Vadim Platon.
Contact for privacy requests: Telegram @mgmoldova. Before public commercial deployment, add a dedicated email address and postal contact for the controller.
2. Data we process
When you browse the public site, the server may process standard technical request data such as IP address, user agent, requested URL, date and time, and security logs.
If you accept analytics cookies, Platon.md also records first-party analytics events such as page views, engagement, and heartbeat events while the tab is visible: page path, page title, referrer, UTM parameters, viewport and screen size, browser language, timezone, device type, session id, visit duration, maximum scroll depth, user agent, visitor id, and an IP hash used for aggregate visitor statistics.
If you change language, the site stores a language preference cookie named platon_lang.
If you log in as an administrator, PHP session cookies are used to keep the admin session active.
3. Purposes and legal bases
Strictly necessary processing: to deliver the website, keep it secure, remember language settings, and provide admin login. Legal basis: legitimate interests and, where applicable, performance of a requested service.
Analytics processing: to understand which pages are useful, improve content, and detect broad usage patterns. Legal basis: your consent.
You can refuse analytics cookies without losing access to the website.
4. Cookies and local storage
Strictly necessary: PHPSESSID for admin/session functionality; platon_lang for language preference when you choose a language.
Consent preference: platon_cookie_consent is stored in localStorage so the cookie notice remembers your choice.
Analytics after consent: platon_visitor is a first-party visitor id cookie. Session id for analytics is stored in sessionStorage.
No analytics cookies are intentionally set before you accept analytics cookies.
5. Retention
Language preference and analytics visitor id may be stored for up to 12 months.
Analytics events are kept in the local SQLite database until deleted during maintenance or until they are no longer useful for site improvement.
Server logs depend on hosting configuration. Keep them only as long as needed for security and troubleshooting.
6. Recipients and transfers
Public pages are served by the website hosting provider. Hosting may process technical request data as a processor or independent provider depending on deployment.
The current site loads fonts and some JavaScript libraries from third-party CDNs. Those providers may receive technical request data such as IP address and user agent when your browser downloads those files.
Analytics implemented in this codebase is first-party and stored locally in the site database. It is not intentionally shared with advertising networks.
7. Your rights
Under the GDPR, where applicable, you can request access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection to processing.
Where processing is based on consent, you can withdraw consent at any time by changing cookie settings or clearing site data in your browser.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a competent Data Protection Authority in the EU or EEA.
8. Automated decisions
Platon.md does not use automated decision-making or profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects for visitors.
